Location: In the high cordillera, east of Copiapó.
Nearest town: Copiapó (over La Guardia 196 km, over Santa Rosa 229 km),
El Salvador (103 km)
Petrol: Copiapó (203 km), El Salvador (103 km)
The place: At the Negro Francisco lagoon there is a CONAF hut, at some
distance the Maricunga Gold Mine. Food and water should be brought
along. Sights: Laguna Negro Francisco with views of the Copiapó volcano
and many other mountains of the Cordillera, plants and wildlife of the
Andes. Attention: The area is quite high (4200 meters), you should be
able to climb it and in good health.
