Caldera Port:
Caldera pier always invites you for a walk. Boat tours of the port are available. There are also restaurants and the old train station where you can find exhibitions and cultural activities.

The fishing industry is of great importance in Caldera. Fresh fish or seafood can be bought without difficulty directly from the boat.
They also invite a number of restaurants to taste the seafood at a reasonable price.

The statistical table (see below) shows well the development of Caldera. Initially (until 1875) about 3000 people lived in the city, taking into account that Copiapó had at the same time 12,000 inhabitants, was quite populated. Until the 1952 census, the population was reduced to just over 1,300 inhabitants, a very alarming figure. But from this date until today the population grew considerably and installed Caldera as an important urban center in the Atacama Region.
