Some two kilometers south of the village lies the abandoned cemetery. The remains of the inhabitants and miners of this symbolic place lie in two large courtyards.

From Juan Godoy / Chañarcillo there is the possibility to go down towards Copiapó valley. This road is unfortunately not in good condition or simply impassable. It is recommended only for 4X4 vehicles (better with two vehicles). In total, up to Pavilion, it is estimated that the route takes between two and three hours.
This road is not always passable (August 2005). This road represents one of the most important roads that connected Chañarcillo with the Copiapó valley and the city of Copiapó before the operation of the railway.
In the entire mine sector, we must move with caution:
Do not enter the tunnels, shafts and galleries! Do not carry any artifacts!!!!
