Flowering desert Atacama: p.1 - p.2 - p.3
After a rainy year in the Atacama Desert, a
spectacular phenomenon can be observed: The flowering desert. Between
Vallenar and Copiapó, perhaps even Caldera, the desert is changed to a
sea of flowers.
The desert absolutely changes his face. An infinite number of flowers
accompanied by insects change the image of the desert completely.
Rainfall between July and September is the reason for this phenomenon.
The most beautiful sectors are between Vallenar and Copiapó.
Information:
You can observe and visit the flowering desert after rainy years,
especially between November and January. The phenomenon mainly extends
from Vallenar to Copiapó to Chañaral.
