Vallenar is located 140 km south of Copiapó, 663 km north of Santiago. The small town has 43,750 inhabitants and is located in the Huasco river valley at an altitude of 380 m. From Vallenar you can make a large number of excursions to interesting areas: Alto del Carmen, San Felix, El Transito, Freirina and Carrizal Bajo among others.
