The railway station still shows the importance of this
village during the decades of the last century. The station got
unoccupied today. The line connected Copiapó with Diego de Almagro. From
the 1970s onwards, it was only with cargo traffic. The old station still
remains as a witness of the glorious era of Cuba or Inca de Oro.
Nowadays it is not necessary to enter the town of Inca de Oro thanks to
the new "By Pass". But the road that passes through the village is
recommended (be careful, there is an ugly speed bump at the entrance!).
A typical mining village with adobe houses of different styles. Close to
the square up to the railway station, there are mostly well-built
houses, but unfortunately not always in good condition. You can park in
the plaza or in front of the station for a drink. Some restaurants offer
a "homemade "menu.
