The move of families to other cities also affected the
infrastructure. The hotels, gasoline station and shops closed and
gradually the town lost its importance.
Statistics show that Inca de Oro had between 1940 and 1960 its maximum
number of inhabitants. In the 80's there was a sharp decline in people
living in Inca de Oro. Currently (2012) there is a slight improvement,
i. e. an increase in the number of people compared to the 1980s..
